THE STORY OF ST CLAIR BLACK

Craftily made and picked during the best tea season of the Dimbula, this is a tea for the connoisseur in your heart. This bright Black tea comes from the high grown regions of Sri Lanka, once known as Ceylon, a beautiful tropical island off the southern tip of India.

This exceptional black tea comes from the St. Clair plantation, the plantation was established in 1880 by Ryan Heirs. This plantation is surrounded by the St. Clair falls that flow through its tea wrapped mountains, enriching the tea crops and giving the tea of this region a unique flavor that can’t be found anywhere else.

The conditions in the terroir allow growth of quality tea. This St Clair tea is an OP (Orange Pekoe) with a long, thin, tightly rolled leaf. As you can notice when you carefully examine the tea, this is a full-leaf with no tip or buds which are a distinctive characteristic of OP teas
